Hmm. Tough choice. This movie didn't really do much for me, but I would like to see Hearts of Darkness, as I find the making of this movie more interesting than the movie itself. (I know, i know... So sue me.)

Wow, Hearts of Darkness as an extra! Awesome, I wonder if they will make a new transfer for that?

Hah, funny. I wrote that while Taxi was posting.
Unlike Taxi I'm a big fan of Apocalypse Now though.

That movie was awesome and still is in my opinion. And 9 fricking hours of bonus material?!?

after hearing over and over again from reviewers their disappointment with the lack of Hearts of Darkness on all previous versions of this disc, I think I have to buy it just to see it.

Parts of AP I think are brillant, and parts of that film I can't stand. So it's hard for me to want to watch it, even though I've owned it now on laserdisc and two different dvds. Every time a new release comes out I decide to give it a try and just end up pissed off.

I watched the theatrical cut for years and I've watched the Redux version a few times but I really don't care for it.

2:35? Isn't that "scope"?

Sorry, I don't follow you.
Do you not watch scope movies at home?

I for some reason thought that would be cropped out the ass on a 16:9 TV.
And PJ for that matter.

I still don't get you.
People watch scope movies on 16:9 screens all the time. In these cases, the image is letterboxed to preserve the original aspect ratio, and avoid cropping.
This should be common knowledge for most if not all of the folks on this forum.
What am I missing?

Iggy, this is what scope looks like on a widescreen TV. Does that clarify the issue?

Most big movies are 2:35 Iggy, you've watched tons of them yourself. I think you are over thinking something or have some small misunderstanding.
